In May we launched the current phase of the Resilience Strategy with a panel discussion at the Toronto Reference Library. We left one chair empty on stage that audience members could occupy if they had a story to tell. We heard some important stories that night and a big variety of perspectives.

We want to continue to foster inclusive conversations that create space for diverse stories and ways of exploring resilience. We also want to create opportunities for people to tell their stories in fun and creative ways. Our micro-grants are one way to achieve that goal.

Micro-Granting Structure

  • Each grant is valued at $500
  • Videos do not need to be of professional quality
  • Recipients are required to produce either a single short video (e.g. 3-5 minutes) or a number of short videos (e.g. 3 videos of approximately 1 minute each on different topics)

The subject of each video can be one or more individuals or organizations, and can be delivered in any style. A total of up to 10 grants will be awarded on a rolling basis beginning on July 16th 2018, and ending on August 10th 2018.

If selected, the deadline for submitting the final film is September 4th 2018.
